I hope you little girl does not have any problems. I did not realize she was so small. Has she been eating okay? |
so the lady was right, i thought it was kinda funny i didnt know what to belive on the akc thingy, but i didnt care, i felt lucky to have his puppies. ive allready changed it. yes shes eating good. and i am very worried about her. i was thinking if the male was half her size it would be fine. but i wasnt thinking about the size of her belly, just the size of the puppies coming out of her, being able to puch them out. i called the breeder i got her from and her mom had anywhere from 5-7 pups a litter. thats way im feeling them all up in her gut and kicking and moving where they shouldnt. but she dosent seem unhealthy or unhappy. excpect the days i thought she was in labor, temp down and labored breath. i think they are pushing up agenst her lungs. but then she seems fine when ever i want to take her to the vet. do you think i should take her in? |
I would not take her in just yet. Keep a close eye on her temperature and also make sure she is not having any greenish or brown discharge. I hope she has them before the weekend. Do you have a vet on call for emergencies? |
i have a vet but he isnt on call so i have to go to the emergency room, its costly, but i dont care, ive taken out so many loans for her. when i first got her her eye had been damaged from a kennel, it cost me over 1000+ but she is my baby. when she went to the stud for the week i couldnt sleep a week and was so upset, come to find she was ok the whole time. but i guess ill just keep a close eye on her. |

One thing I noticed on your website is that you are going to sell the pups at 8 weeks. I strongly suggest that you wait until the pups are at 12 weeks since these will probably be very tiny pups. It takes the little ones a little longer to get weaned and you would not want to start their shots until they are 8 weeks or older. The weaning process is harder on the tiny ones and they are more prone to hypoglycemia so they definitely would need to be kept longer. Personally I would never sell a tiny pup unless it was at least 12 weeks old. |
oh, lol i guess i better clear that up. i dont give my puppies to teh adoptee till 12 weeks. its in my FAQ's the 8 week thing is i ment i wont take deposits till 8 weeks, becase of the size. thanks for bringing that up. |

good luck with the delivery and your new litter of furbabies. |
No luck yet, :( Im starting to wonder if my teddy may have gotten to her. is that possable? he is 12 pounds??? i dont think he could fit in her. but she was locked up in my room till day 20, so im pretty sure she was done with her heat. i think im going a little crazy now. will if she dosent have them by sunday im taking her to my vet monday morning. |
Even though Teddy is 12lbs, he could still get her if he had the chance. I know that my little boy didn\'t take 5 seconds, and Ellie was immediately pregnant. I know that the waiting is tough. Are you still feeling the puppies move around? Did you get the exact date from the breeder? How is her temperature? I would say that if she\'s not in any distress, not to worry. If she does go into labor, but no contractions or too long of pushing get to your vet immediately. You could always call your vet and see what they have to say over the phone. |
she was bred on june 4th 6th and 7th so it can take up to sunday/monday but shouldnt take any longer then that. if there is a possablity rover got her she wouldnt be due till the 18th or so. and with her milk dropped and her tempture fluxauting my vet dosent think thats the case. he thinks i need to relax, like you he says as long as the pups are moving and she seems fine not to worry till monday then i can take her in. i think he is getting tired of my calls and vists, im not allowed to come to monday now. unless shes in pain, or any of the other warning signs he gave me. but thats good, he is a good guy, an ultrasound is over 300.00 and he wouldnt let me have one till he thought she would need it. most vets will just take your money. he also takes strays and finds them homes. |
It sounds like he is a good vet. I just found one that I trust so I know how frustrating it can be. Ultrasounds are not that expensive here, I too have a litter that I am waiting on for my Shih-Tzu. She had a c-section last time, so I pray that everything goes right this time. I can only hope and pray. I am trying to do everything different this time. Hang in there. Keep us up to date. She will probably wait until this weekend. Remember that they can sense your emotions and can hold thier labor back too. Remember the old saying a watched pot never boils. Relax, which will then make her relax, and then things might start to happen. |
Just checking to see how Katie and her momma are doing today? Hope everything is ok. |
How is Katie doing? I hope everything is okay. |
