| signs of yorkie pregnancy Hi yorkie lovers, I am new to this site and I have been doing my research on the yorkie breed for about two years and I purchased my female a year ago. I still have a lot more to learn with help of another breeder. We had her mate with this breeders male that was not a year old yet, but the breeder assured me that she had males in the past that were capable at 11 months old. We paid a stud fee and signed a contract that stated if the dam was pregnant that there would be another breeding available her next heat. Well they did tie, ( February 23),but I was not present. The breeder told me that sometimes they don't mate in front of the owner. Is that common? She took a picture for me and showed it to me for proof and they were in fact tied. She said they tied another 3 or 4 times that week. I left her at her house for a week. My female isn't showing any signs and her due date was yesterday. I have been checking her every single day and reading more and more information that I can get my hands on. Her tummy and nipples aren't swollen she still looks the same in weight and I have been weighing her. She does lay around, but I am looking for more signs and I came across dogbreedinfo.com and it said that female dogs lose a mucous plug. Does that happen or has that ever happened with yorkies? I know I am just beginning and there may be a lot of criticism but I am open to all and any suggestions. |
