Are you a breeder or are you going to start? This thread really is for breeders and I believe that is who it was addressed to. I am tired of jumping in because they all go so terribly wrong so fast.

Hmm...I have a thought. YT is supposed to be a positive place correct? Rudeness of course is not at all positive and I think we can all agree on that. But I believe calling others rude is just as negative. Maybe if everyone would make an effort to just read the words as they are written and not assume a rude tone, everyone would have a different attitude. Why don't we all try to assume that everyone is trying to be nice and helpful by what they write and not rude? Only the poster truly knows their tone, and from what I've seen it often gets interpreted wrongly. If we all truly want to make this forum a positive place, let's all imagine a positive tone behind each post instead of just assuming it is negative. You know what they say about assuming ;)

Sorry, I must be haveing a gray moment. What is wrong with My Fair Lacys posts? I thought her opinions were thoughful and to the point and she is always a wealth of information on health issues and others.

Just wondering?

I have seen this happen before in another forum I was at 10 years ago.

I am wondering this also... :confused: ...

I think if you really can't say something nice then don't say it at all goes for everyone...including those that keep causing trouble because they start shouting out that everyone is being rude...Sometimes when a question is posed and an answer is given it is not what everyone wants to hear...Either take the advice or don't but the advice sure may be helping someone...

Potentially. More interested in showing than breeding one day but we'll see. I am not currently breeding. That's all I care to share publically :)

I have seen no rude or unnecessary comments in this thread. This is a discussion forum, and all member should be allowed to state their opinions and experiences as long as they are not harming an animal, being rude, or personally attacking another member.

I hope that everyone can be open-minded about everything discussed on yorkietalk and not censor information

I was not going to post on this thread, but I really agree here!

Just because she is not a breeder does not make her an uneducated person about breeding/yorkie breed. I have seen her go through great strides to help others and the breed...I think this is the wrong battle to fight. I find her more educated about breeding than any breeder who ever came into our clinic where I worked for almost 3 years, with the exception of one. I have to say I value her opinion and think everyone should be able to have one and talk about it.

Thankyou to those who have defended me, not that I feel the need to defend myself. I have not said anything in rudeness...in fact I am 100% calm about this thread. Anytime I have felt like I might have been rude, I PMed the person and apologized...otherwise I know what my tone is and I know I am not being rude.

I've seen many breeders and non-breeders on this thread. If someone has a personal issue with me, I'd like to think they would be able to keep it off of a public forum. Like I said, I have no personal issues with 99% of the breeders on YT

Maybe I missed something here... is this forum only for say professional breeders? If you are differentiating between breeders and non-breeders what is the criteria. And don't you want people who are considering breeding to be able to participate too? I'm just unclear as to whether there is a bright line on this somewhere that I don't know about yet.

You are so right here! I'm thinking of breeding Zoe and trying to do all my research and learn as much as I can but I am sometimes afraid to ask questions because it seems like a lot of the time, negatives are assumed about people. And sometimes it's not so much that something is rude but that some people have a "know it all" attitude. No pointing anyone out at all but I freely admit I don't know it all yet and probably never will but I'm not sure anyone else on here knows it all either.

I tell people all the time that I certainly don't know it all. I've had someone tell me I had a "know it all attitude" which I think is more their problem than mine...like you said, you can not read tone and if someone believes I think I know it all, they came up with that one their own. I'm never afraid to say I don't know...but I try to help when I can. I will NEVER know it all...no one can. Also, no one is right 100% of the time and no one is wrong 100% of the time. I read, I research, I ask questions...I'm always learning, just as everyone is :)
