I definitely agree that some are being rude. I've noticed that the mods and admin have been pretty vigilent in deleting the rude posts lately. I've seen members called rude many times though that are not being rude at all (and I'm not refering to myself being rude..talking about other members whose posts I read). It's important to give the poster the benefit of the doubt as we can't read tone...I try not to assume someone is being rude.

I agree that the the Moderators and Admin have been vigilent in deleting rude posts. It would be a simple thing to see who is posting inappropriately in the breeder's section by looking at the posts that have been deleted.

Many times people will "quote" the rude person and comment which results in the non-rude person's post being deleted as well. Also, I like to believe that people can change...some that may have been rude in the past may have learned how to post more nicely now. I will admitt that I have posted things that may have been rude in the past, but more recently I have tried to be more careful of my wording as to not come off as rude (although like I said...many people missinterpret the tone of people's posts). And actually, when I have felt that I might have been rude, I PM the person to apologize

LOL...I'm still here, too. I followed quite a few threads before I dared to post anything on this forum because I saw how quickly things get heated here. It doesn't bother me much but I can see how it could make a newbie head for the hills. I think everyone here should look at the OP's number of posts and, if it is someone new, try to be a little less blunt and critical of them. You can still get your point across but what good does it do if they are scared off. This is a great site with loads of good info on it and if anyone stays around, some of it will surely sink in. If they leave due to hurt feelings, how does that help them, or more importantly, their dogs? :aimeeyork:animal-pa:animal-pa:animal-pa:animal-pa:)

I think the bottom line is what this thread is all about its some respect for your fellow breeder, I don't have to justify myself nor does anyone else that breeds to anyone on here. You can take one look at my babies and see I breed to standard, and if you really know me, you know how much I put into my breeding program, and what I do, but if you don't know me, then why should I have to justify it to anyone that is rude about my breeding, the bottom line is the ones that are rude and talking behind everyones back, you just don't get it and you never will:(

:thumbup: Exactly! If you are comfortable with your breeding program and believe you are doing the right thing, you have no need to defend yourself or justify it to others. If you are happy with yourself, why do you care what others think? I guess I am one of those people that just doesn't care what most people think of me - I am who I am and I won't change just because someone doesn't like it or doesn't agree with me. So I guess I don't understand why so many care what others think so much... if someone doesn't like you, who cares - that is the problem of the person that doesn't like you. I don't let people bother me - it's the ones that put their energy into disliking me that have the issue... I just don't care what others think because I am happy and confident with myself. So like I said, if you as a breeder are confident, that is all that matters....shouldn't matter what others think of you.

So far as a buyer....everyone has different opinions on what they want in a breeder. And we know there are plenty of breeders out there...so everyone has the right to choose who to buy or not buy from.

That is true, but it can also be said as a Breeder, that I have expectation of a buyer and I am very picky about who I would sell to. They have to meet my standards.

I try to have this mentality as much as I can, and for the most part I put on my "tough skin" when it comes to criticism, but PMing me or talking behind my back (or emailing from the site as was done to Sugar's mom) is just crossing the line. What bothers me is that someone is going to say ONE thing that sends a flurry of rumors to god knows who, and then the next thing you know I'm listed somewhere as a "bad breeder" by someone who doesn't even know me. That just gets under my skin a little. As a breeder, all you have is your reputation, and if people are slandering your name with untrue statements, the only thing you can do is stand behind your dogs and say, "that's false." Sometimes it's just a little much...

And for the record, I'm not directing this at you Michelle, just responding to the general idea. I think your posts are always very informative and not so much "rude" as "to the point." I agree with 99% of your posts, and I think you're an asset to this community. I'm referring to those who go OUT of their way to make remarks about an INDIVIDUAL as opposed to a general idea. Am I making sense at all? lol

Yes, perfect sense. If you have a personal issue with someone, keep it private..no reason to post about it or imply it on a public forum. Or better yet...let it go completely. And there is no reason to just be outright rude - doesn't get you anywhere.

And no two people will ever agree on anything 100% of the time...everyone is an individual with their own opinions and ways of doing things. As long as they aren't endangering a dog or causing harm, that's completely fine. Differences of opinions should be welcomed in a forum, not shut out

Exactly, BUT if someone says, "should I breed my 8 lb male to my 3 lb female?" and an inexperienced breeder replies "yes that's fine" then SOMETHING needs to be said. But there are still ways of saying things that don't come across as threatening.

Me too!!!!!!!! And I have cancelled more than one sale, even to Yt'ers because they lied on the application.

Oh yes, I just cancelled one 2 days ago (not to a YTer) who was supposed to be getting one of Brooke's girls. She let something slip that told me she was planning on breeding the dog she got, and I'll bet these girls don't make 4 lbs. :eek: I gave her back her deposit and told her sorry, and I referred her to two good breeders in the area who sell their puppies with full registration.

I feel the need to say this too...I don't have a personal problem with 99% of the breeders on this forum. There are a few that I do because I feel like they are harming animals by what they are doing, but I just don't spend much of my time thinking about breeders on here as individuals. I usually think of breeding in general and give my opinions on breeding in general...very little of the time do I ever have a specific breeder on my mind. I have had friends that have bred their dogs or currently still breed...there are many breeders on this forum I personally like. I may not 100% agree with someone's breeding practices, but that doesn't mean I don't like them or can't be friends with them. If anyone feels like I don't like them, ask me! If someone wants to hear it, I will be honest about my thoughts about them personally or even so far as their breeding program if they ask and want to know...otherwise, I just don't think much about it.

I am very passionate when it comes to this breed and breeding and I would like to see everyone do it a certain way so I post about how I feel it should be done. But just because a breeder doesn't do everything I say I want done, doesn't mean I can't like them as a person...I may not buy a puppy from them but that doesn't mean I can't be friends with them.
