In labor - please help
 
Please advise. My friends yorkie is in labor. She had one puppy about an hour ago. She has 3 or 4 (not 100% sure based on x-ray). The 2nd puppy was starting to get our right after the first one but it got back. What should be done c-section or just wait for a little while. I have bad experience with waiting losing couple puppies before with my dogs. Should I urge her to go to emergency room right away?

I think we need a little more information!..Has she delivered anymore pups yet?...Is the pup coming back feet first?...Or head first?...How are mom's contractions?

No contractions. I didn't see it myself but the bubble was showing. Mommy is ok.

The bubble might not have been a puppy but maybe just a water sack. If you have any Nutri-cal or Karo syrup give a little to the momma. Many times they will go 1 or two hours between puppies.

I heard you should try giving a teaspoon of dark beer to help with the contractions and try feathering the birth canal.

I sometimes give one teaspoon dark beer to mama after all the whelping is done. i have been told it helps bring the milk down.

:) I apologize for not getting back sooner. I didn't have access to the Interned for the rest of the night. Everything went very well! Mickey (mommy) is doing great. She had three puppies, one girl and two boys. Everyone is healthy and eating well. All three babies were born in the bed. That's what happens when they want they sleep with you every night. We didn't want to disturb mommy too much so she stayed there all night. As I've mentioned earlier we werent sure about the 4th puppy. When I've seen the x-ray I was 99% sure there are 4, but I guess I was wrong. My friend slept on the floor for the rest of the night listening to the the babies and her hubby on the couch...haha. This is how we love our babies. I am glad she didn't have to go for the c-sec since there is usually some problems including fever and stitches. Focus, one of my dogs is a daddy but he doesn't seem to be excited as much as we are. Thank you for all of your suggestions.
