Night #2!

Last night was a little better and Ellie let Mommy get a little sleep! She slept from about 11 to 3 this morning. She isn't eating very well at night but she did the same thing the first night and then ate about every 3 hours during the day yesterday! Just watching her really close.
She still isn't drinking water very well, so I force fed her about 6cc last night and if she isn't drinking again today will do the same thing. She is still going pee and I keep checking her skin for dehydration...so far so good!
She is winning when she needs to go potty so I have started placing her on a puppy pad everytime she wakes up and so far she hasn't had anymore accidents on the bed! Though I know that she isn't old enough to put the two together consistently yet, I feel that this is at least a start!
I do have one question for anyone out there who may know the answer...She pooped for me last night before bed but id was a different color and slightly softer texture than the first poop that I saw from her. I wouldn't call it runny but it is softer and is lighter in color. The poop on the first night was hard and very dark. Should I be concerned?

| | You changed her diet right? Very common in pups and dog when their diet changes without slowly transferring over to another food. My guess only, that is what's happening. Just watch she doesn't start pooping too much, that will cause dehydration. Your on your toes Mom!!! |

| | Yes, we did change her food as the vet recommended to one higher in protein. She seems to be eating it much better than the Cesar the breeder had her on. |

| | Yep, it's just the food change. As long as it's still a formed, solid poop, I would't worry about it. Thanks for updating the blog. You guys are the first thing I checked on when I got to my computer today. |

| | Just wanted to let you know how we got our 7 wk. old yorkie to drink water. My husband put some in a spoon and she would drink it. Finally she started drinking from a bowl. Good luck! |

| | Thanks for the update. I too check for updates on Ellie the first thing when I get on my computer. I may tend to agree. It is probably the change in food. |
