Apparently, the top structures are flexible so it mushes down as far down as the base measurements for going under the seat.

See --this is my problem---I don't want to buy the wrong carrier. I don't mind spending the cash--I just want to be sure it multi-tasks for me.

ie: planes, car and toting. Oy.
