I would not personally buy anything bigger than a 5/8 bow, but right now I am buying alot of the smaller ones (3/8) since my little girl is only 14 weeks and is TINY! I don't really have a "preference" on the starched or un-starched, but the starched IS nice because the bow doesn't get bent or lose it's shape

However, I DO prefer the barrettes on the back. I prefer to put a single rubber band in myself and just clip the bow in. For me, it works sooo much better this way
