It is the HUGE bugs that come up out of the ground every 7 years. They go through butterfly-like stages (without the beauty FOR SURE). They climb the trees, get all caccooned, and a lot of them drop to the ground when they come out and have their wings but haven't used them yet. YUCK! The dogs acted like it was an all you could eat buffet!!! Then, of course, they ate too much (just during "pee" time) and come back in and PUKE! Again, YUCK! Anyway, the ones that make eat go around making lots of noise, fly right into you (they don't bite), and eat tons of leaves off of all trees! I'd say the average Cicada is like 4-5" long! |
