Maybe you can offer "insurance optional" on your orders too. That way, you can purchase the shipping insurance, which should in fact, pay for lost/damaged items.

I know I wouldn't mind paying that little extra for insurance - especially, when it is the current and honest amount - I have noticed some people try to get more money by "upping" the insurance amount. (not here, on eBay).

If you do insurance, isn't the delivery confirmation included in that? Or is that just when you ship Priority? -- I can't remember. But I think delivery confirmation is a plus too! There have been numerous times I have waited for a package and had no clue on it. I would rather have the abilty to check it online myself instead of trying to contact the seller each time.

That might ease the need to use the signatures, which may not always be the best.

EX< - I remember working out of the home years ago and would have a sticky note for a package to sign for - the package being in my small town post office, but I working in another town. I know our small town post office doesn't open until 8am, they close for lunch for 30-1hour and they close by 5pm. For people working, there would be no way to get the package until the weekend, and our small town post office closes before noon on Saturdays.

I did just get a package that I had to sign for, but luckily, the carrier had brought it to my home and I signed for it here - that was the first time I actually signed for a package at home - normally, we just get the slip in our box to go to the post office. <each location may be different, I don't know>

In any case Des, we love you and your goodies and you are always so good to each of us - I am sure that no one would mind the added cost, especially knowing that it is a peace of mind for them and you!
