Two great straightforward books are by Pat Miller. One is Positive Perspectives and the other is The Power of Positive Dog Training. I would highly recommend either of those two books to start out. Thanks so much for the feedback. I do not believe in hitting any animal for any reason. I don't want my baby to be submissive, I just want her to behave. I think I may shop around a bit more and will visit the website. I will probably only get one chance to do it right when my baby is a baby. The positive approach is what is used at the puppy classes I plan to take Gracie to. Thanks so much!
