As worried as I am though, he seems perfectly fine. He is not acting weak or weird in anyway. I am waiting for him to go potty a second time and see if its just an irritation that he had or if is a real infection... if I see blood again, I think I'll rush him to the vet. I was so worried the whole day that I couldnt concentrate in my classes. I hope I am doing the right thing by waiting a little. Please keep him in your prayers... I really love him a lot... |
I just wanted to let you know what I give my girls When they have stool or stomach problems. I would take her to your vet a.s.a.p. but I would also start her a little unflavored regular yogurt. If you can find a dropper force feed some to her if necessary. Yogurt has a bacteria in it that kills bad bacteria in the stomach and intestines. If she has parvo it will help her get over it quicker. Also, the reason the pups have such a bad time with parvo is because they dehidrate. If you can find someone who can come several times a day and force feed her yogurt and pedialite. These will keep her hidrated and kill the bad bacteria in her intestines. Once she gets over this, give her some yogurt about 1 tablespoon per week or twice a month and her intestines will be fine. My Shihtzu had parvo and bloody stool so I took her to the vet and he gave her antibiotics, but she didn't start to get up and about like usual (she's very active) until I started to give her yogurt and pedialite.(like for babies) I also started my Yorkie on the yogurt because they live in the same house and the Yorkie never got Parvo. By the way, I was told by a long time breeder to use the yogurt, I was clueless. I hope she gets better.
