BURBANK, Calif. Airport personnel at Bob Hope Airport in Burbank spent upwards of a half hour Thursday morning chasing a wayward stray Yorkie over several tarmacs and runways.
Chopper 2 was overhead when airport officials started making the mad dash to catch the little pooch, estimated to be about seven pounds.
As workers closed in on the dog several times, he outsmarted his human pursuers at every turn.
Finally, the dog was pooped and was cornered by an airport fence.
KCAL 9's Ross Palombo met up with the dog moments after his capture. The dog declined interviews.
Later, the dog (who had no identifying collar or microchip) was taken to a nearby Burbank shelter where Animal Control gave him a bath, blow dry and new style.
The dog was later named Taxi for his fondness for running on the airport runway.
Burbank Animal Control says they have already received numerous inquiries from the public about adopting the getaway artist.
