Well ladies , I am a groomer and I do not want in any way to defend this groomer as the cut is appalling!! but never ask for a puppy cut as the term means many different things to every groomer. Puppy cut means any length from shaved to three of four inches long. It is a generic term. You all will be a lot happier when you learn to ask for what you want and you pick a groomer that can groom!!! If you can, watch your groomer work, find out if she can hand scissor a dog, watch how she treats other peoples dogs. It takes a bit of talent to trim a yorkie and make it look great, hand scissoring is a must with the silk coats. The head should be in proportion to the body, cute and round to make it look like a puppy with what ever length you wish to ask for. But if you just say puppy cut, remember you can get any length the groomer whishes to put on your dog. This hair cut took all of 15 minutes and even though the dog looks sweet it is an terrible hair cut!!! There is no excuse for sending out any dog like this.... learn to give good directions to your groomer.... I would like the body coat to be about two inches long and the legs about the same, I would like the head to be round and nicely scissored and the ears tipped just at the end. Take in some notes if you must or even a good picture. Then be sure you discuss ever point with your groomer before you hand over the dog. Do not give your dog to any one but the groomer that is going to groom your dog, as things are lost in translation. And when it is all done you will be happy if you have picked a good groomer and you can give good directions!!!
