yesterday, I was cleaning floors and stuff so I put kizzy in her pen outside. the kind that has the tray in the bottom. I pulled the tray our so she could still be on the grass and use the br there. She was all fine, later I brought her in and gave her a bath. after that she was like wild, running and playing just fine. So about 4 pm I feed her. I still had a few things to finish up and I put her back n her pen. I looked out in a minute, she was going round and round on her tray as if to use the bathroom. So I thought, well dont she know to go off the tray but i went out to let her out so she didnt poop on the tray and she had pooped in the grassy area behind the tray, but she also had thrown up all her food. it wasnt even digested and she seemed sick, I brought her in the house and thought she would be ok. She laid on the rug in my kitchen for a minute, then she got up and I saw she just didnt feel like being up. then she pooped in the floor couple small places and one large place and it looked like it had little black peices of something in it. look maybe lil peices of bark of a tree. Well I had cleaned out the cage and the mess when i went out to get her the first time and i took and put her back in it, just in case she had to poop some more. I can wash down the tray, but I looked out in a minute and she seemed lethargic and weak.
I went out and she was shaking. so i got a warm towel and wrapped her in it and just held he on the deck till hubby got home and of course he was late so i held her for about and hour. and she would just lay there and not pay much attn to anything, in a little while she heard a vehicle go up the road and kinda started acting like she was then noticing stuff. But she still lay there with me. When she heard hubby drive up she sat up and her ears kinda perked up. he came on up on the deck and took her and held her for maybe 45 minutes and she lay there and slept. So we brought her in and crated her but he told me i had to feed her a little bit since her food was all lost. so i fed her maybe 1 teaspoon of dry food and took her out to pee. she came back in and threw all of that up and it wasnt digested either. anyway. to make a long story a little shorter, I only gave her water off and on and kept her in her crate over night and today she is like a wild girl. running and playing and jumping all over the place. I was so scared i just started crying when hubby got home. But she is fine today even her stool is normal again and her food stayed down all morning.
So, I see they can really scare you to death sometimes. the vet said she may have gotten a lil peice of stick or something and it got in her and took a while to get everything out. he said for me to watch her if i didnt want to bring her in yesterday and if i needed him during the night just call.
but luckily she is ok now, so i guess the vet was right, either a peice of some kind of grass or stick or something that just didnt work with her digestive system. sorry this is such a long post but it was a long story. seemed like forever to me yesterday evening. thank God she is ok
