Perhaps she complains to you because she knows you also have a yorkie and this is common ground for conversations between the two of you. Keep supporting her like I'm sure you've been doing. She knows the offer is there for you to take her dog if she can't afford to or does not feel able to take care of her. Try this...everytime she says something negative about her furbaby counter it with something positive. The fact that she takes her furbaby to the vets when it's ill is proof to me she has some degree of compassion for her. Good Luck!
Very good point. And you are probably right. Another lady in our office is considering getting a Yorkie-Her daughter has been wanting one forever. Every time she says something about getting a Yorkie, the other lady says, "Oh, I don't recommend anybody get a Yorkie, they are expensive and high maintenence." I always say "The joy my Yorkies bring me outweigh the expense and down side by far!!"
It is just so frustrating for me to hear. I'm just venting cause I know you guys understand!
