Of course, HEIFER is a rude word. Those of you who are a few pounds overwieght (which probably describes a lot of us) and who don't mind being referred to as a HEIFER are just fine - more power to you! But, terms like this do hurt a lot of people's feelings and that's why we shouldn't use them. A person's weight has nothing to do with anything. Some of the most wonderful people in the world are "overweight."
And - again as far as any encounters go that we ever have with other people regarding our Yorkies or anything else - I still believe being nice and polite will get us further than becoming defensive and bad mannered ourselves.
The way we behave defines the type of person we are -- not the other person. I would rather walk away from anything knowing that I was well mannered, polite, and MATURE ---than become like the type of person I am complaining about.
The nicest people I know and the ones I respect the most - would really just walk away. They may answer politely, but they wouldn't lower themselves to argue with a stranger in a public place. And - don't we all know that this would be the most disappointing reponse a person trying to start an arguement could get!!!! These people just love it if you argue back. If you don't, they almost don't know what to do........
