In our area we have GI specalists who would be treating a problem this extensive and that has gone on so long. The antibiotics will kill ALL bacteria in the bowel and the beneficial ones must be replaced IMO. I ALWAYS use BeneBac when any of mine are on antibiotics or if a nursing mom is on antibiotics. BeneBac is beneficial bacteria and is made for many species and they do make one for dogs. I give a small tube of it to buyers of my puppies with instructions to use it for the first coupla days and under any stress situations..IBS is a condition that these babies get and is very difficult to deal with..All of that Pepto would worry me but your vet knows what he likes to prescribe and what works for him..
