So my little man Geno has been having runny poops for the past 2 months. They were due for their bloodwork for heart worm this month so I waited to see the vet until now. He has been eating, drinking, playing, and pottying like normal so I figured it could wait till now to see what was going on. If he wasn't doing all of that, he would have went to the vet immediately. Plus I am a tax accountant so until April 15th, I am all work and I have my fiancé who would have taken him if we agreed that it was bad. Anyways, today I had gone to the vet, Mia just got bloodwork and I made sure Geno saw the vet. Unfortunately our vet has been out for 2 weeks with some kind of bug. They had a substitute vet that was awful. Luckily, their breeder works at my vet so she gave me all the advice she could which was way better than the vet.

So they expressed his glands and were able to get a stool sample from him. They tested it and it was negative for worms. The breeder came in and gave me a probiotic and they put him on a chicken and rice diet for 4 days with the probiotic mixed in. I am going tomorrow or monday to get a chicken breast and rice but not sure how to cook it. I guess try to shred it and mix the rice in with it. Mia will have to go on this diet as well since I free feed them. The breeder told me it won't harm her to have the same diet and to give her the probiotic as well. I probably will give them the chicken and rice while I'm at work and when I get home, more chicken and rice but with the probiotic so I can monitor them and make sure Geno is getting the bulk of the probiotic opposed to Mia since she has been fine with her stools. Now after the special diet, I am going to switch their food. They are currently eating Nutrisource Grain Free Seafood Select. She suggested things that aren't too rich and that are strictly for sensitive stomach and to avoid anything with corn in it. I found one called Taste of the Wild Small Breed dry dog food. It helps with sensitive stomach and has a probiotic in it.

I was just wondering though what you feed your babies for sensitive stomach and if you had any similar issues. It is hard that I have another one and since I free feed them, she will have to go on the same food as well. I figure if it helps with sensitive stomach, even though she isn't having a problem, it couldn't hurt her to go on it as well. Just hoping they both like it as well.
