This may seem a little strange but try having the grandchildren read him a little story if he will sit with them it's a great way to get the grandchildren calm with the dog and for the dog to relax around the kids, it's worth a little try it may take a few attempts and the kids will love it as they feel good about helping and the little fur kid may calm down .
