First set of vaccinations?? First in the series?? He is NOT protected from parvo until he has at least 2 sets of the vaccine in him.....I personally would NOT be letting him around any other dogs or out in public until he has completed his puppy shots....this is a series of three or four shots, depending on the "brand" used. Parvo is vicious and a killer and there is NO reason to risk it! Good for you that you are being so cautious! You usually get the first in the series at 8-9 weeks, the second in the series at 11-12 weeks, and the last in the series at 14-15 weeks old. I do not let my new owners come see their babies or handle them until they have that second in the series on board for a week. (I have had first hand experience with people bringing parvo in on their clothes/shoes/hands, contaminating unvaccinated babies, almost killed a large litter of my innocent babies.....I would not wish parvo on my worst enemy!
