I can't answer your "age" question with any authority other than our 11-13 yo 5 lbs yorkie is getting along fine with our approx 1 1/2 year old rescue 10 pound york/pom.
My emphasis when selecting a rescue was size and temperament. I didn't want a dog more than twice the size of our old guy but MOST importantly a new dog needed to be of very good temperament with other dogs to increase the likelihood that major problems wouldn't occur between our old dog and new. |
