I crate my expectant moms so we dont end up with puppies born all over the house, in places where I cant get to momma and babies! I always assist my ladies during whelping...."we" have the pups together, everyone is calm and cool and safe, soft music playing, I rub her tummy between babies.... and I can see what is happening immediately, at any moment. If she needs help, I am right there.
