I am originally from NY,if you live in one of the 5 Boro's the ASPCA on 86th St. East River Drive have the finest vets and internist specialists... Colitis... does the diarrhea have mucus and blood in it? With meds it should clear up in one to two weeks. I just went through a bout of what I thought was Colitis (diarrhea with blood and mucus in it ) It turned out to be rectal stricture, and required surgery.(symptoms were the same as Colitis) Your concern should not be where it came from, or how it's gotten, concern should be in getting it cured. If you are not satisfied with the vet you are using and live in one of the 5 boro's try the ASPCA.... Your last post, did you write the poop was stringy?
