Even if she has it, if it's caught early the prognosis can be very good with surgery. My mother had breast cancer but they caught it really early, so surgery and some radiation wiped it out. Never has shown up again on subsequent mammograms. But yeah, cancer is about the scariest thing in the world to hear.
