My yorkie took fluconazole for two years for a fungal infection called Valley Fever. The side effect of loss of appetite went away after a short time. I would advise you to give a liver protectant like denamarin any time you are treating your dog with an antifungal. They are all tough on the liver.

We had to use fluconazole as well for Marcel and he did great on it, no side effects at all and he was only about 3.5lbs at the time. I believe we had it compounded. Worked great. Keto is def cheaper, but I don't recall the Diflucan being too unreasonable - albeit a little more pricey.
