Crate training is addressing the potty issues. They learn not to potty in their beds...one lady suggested when not at home, use a small crate during the day, she comes home she picks up the crate and carries her baby outside, opens the door and her baby goes potty and plays...then she has access in a play yard....she says this has worked..I am not a fan of pee pads...my girl has her own bedroom per say with her crate done up with her bed blankets and toys...its not for discipline...also I would never leave a puppy without her in the crate and locked...my fear would be she get into something that would harm her...while i am home all day usually..the crate door stays open..she sometimes prefer to have some "her time"....she goes in her bed and takes a nap if i am cleaning...hope this makes sense...I am a fan of crates...for potty training, then keeping her safe...however, I am not a fan of people using that to just keep them locked up...
