Growing out those top hairs takes a lot of patience for both you and your pup.

I recommend using the tiny non latex grooming bands since they don't catch and break off the tiny hairs as the rubber ones do. Change the topknot every day. The longer it stays in the more hairs will slip out and they tend to break as they wind around the band.

You can also try using a good all natural conditioning spray on the topknot everyday as it will help keep the hair hydrated and healthy.

They do sell a gel for dogs that some people like. It is supposed to hold the hairs in place a little longer. Gracie hated it though and would rub her face on the floor every time I used it.
