1- ZoE definitely isn't a lapdog. She grants me an occasional cuddle when she chooses, and will sometimes lay down next to me, and for the most part she is pretty independent.
2- ZoE is a female. I've only ever had females. My last yorkie was definitely more of a cuddle bug than Zo is.
3- I brought ZoE home when she was 6 weeks old. She was much more clingy as a young puppy. Somewhere around 9 months old she became much more independent.
While I sometimes would like her to cuddle more, I'm also glad that she's a confident secure pup in her own home. Personally, I view it just like I would with a child..better confident & independent, than clingy and neurotic.
