Good to know about the yeast infection connection w/sweet potatoes. I have one very yeasty pup & need to avoid all carbs, including sweet potatoes.
Dogs don't eat plain baked potatoes. Looking at the GI Index for a stand alone ingredient doesn't translate in kibble where all the ingredients are mixed together. You have to look at the combined meal. Do you ever have just a plain solitary baked potato for dinner? No, you have a salad, meat of some kind, a glass of milk maybe and a vegetable.

You are right the index is 111 for baked russet potato but is 94 for baked sweet potato.

The Gylcemic Load is more important anyway and white potato is much much lower, 25% lower probably because sweet potato has so much sugar.

Given the oxaxlate levels, phytoestrogen levels as well as the fact sweet potato have up to 3 times the level of sugar. White potato is a better option.
