I'm planning on buying a yorkie from a reputed breeder in the very near future and was wondering if there's a way to determine the temperament of the puppy to suit my lifestyle? I live in a small condo and would require a quiet laidback type. What do I need to look for in the puppy or is this even possible? Thanks much.
First and most important find a reputable breeder which is easier said then done. A reputable breeder will not let the puppy leave when they are too young and will make sure the dog is properly socialized with it's litter mates. A responsible breeder will know the personalities of their puppies and help you choose one. That being said each dog will have it's own personality and terriers have a feisty personality. Buster has been a fairly laid back dog but he has his terrier times. Patience and positive training will help shape your puppies personality.
