I agree with Ann, a little won't hurt. It has been awhile since I read about the differences in the foods -- something about cat food being super high in protein and fat and having maybe additional nutrients like taurine that cats need more of. I don't think all dog foods have it.

The cat food is too rich for dogs, and dog food isn't rich enough for cats, if I recall correctly.
