We had a cone for Bella when she was spayed for just in case, but we never needed to use it. The most important thing is to be sure she doesn't lick or pick at her stitches, or do too much running around and jumping before she is healed. We always crate Bella at night, so that was not an issue. If Missy tends to jump off the bed in the night, you might want to consider crating her.
