Whole peas are fine.
It poses a problem when they split the ingredient to pea fiber, pea protein, pea starch, pea flour. If the pet food has 2 or more of the above ingredients, then a bulk of the protein is not coming from the meat protein, but from a plant source.
Dogs can't digest fruits & veggies, it must be blanched or blended for it to be absorbed.
