Tibbe had 2 bad panic attacks when he was having some much tummy trouble recently and the neighbor was using his circle saw every day at the same time. He was trying to isolate, panting, wild-eyed, restless and shaking. I began playing circle saw soundtracks on the computer all day and bought him a Thundershirt. Once day the saw started up, he jumped up worried and looking about, I put on the T-shirt and he lay down immediately and quietened as I told him "Reeee-lax" a few times. In a few minutes, even with the saw still going at times, he was asleep. I've used it three times since on him with the same results. I kept up and still do the circle saw desensitization sounds but I think that Thundershirt and the principle of compression soothing works for many dogs. Try it and just return it if it doesn't work for your dog. Just be sure to get one snug enough to work properly. Tibbe is 6 lb. and I got him the XXS, I think it was. Now that Tibbe isn't ill, he doesn't seem to have his panic attacks over strange sounds anymore so IDK if he was just extra edgy when he felt bad or what but I'm glad I have that Thundershirt just in case.
