I hate snakes and spiders - yuckies! I for sure would have ran the other way - you are one brave lady for killing that thing!
Fortunately, we haven't seen too many snakes around here though we did have a run-in with a skunk (well, Jack did) and we have an opossum hanging out in the back yard. The other day hubby and I just put Jack and Izzy inside and we were sitting on the bench on the back deck when we look up and see this hawk flying so low you could actually see its feathers - scared both of us and we were so thankful the dogs were safe inside. Sometimes its good having snow on the ground
