I believe it depends more on the dog than the sex. Both of ours are very loving. Zoe (5 month old female) moreso than Chase (7.5 year old neutered male), but I think it's more in the breeding. We did not know much when we got Chase. Bought him from a breeder we did not know, did not get the chance to see his parents. I asked, but they were not on site where we met her to see the puppy. My daughter was 12 years old and all gogo eyed over the puppy. Chase was cute and fortunately healthy, but he has a mean streak. He's loving and cuddly when he wants to be, but has bit me before, actually several times . His hair is not as good either.

Zoe is just a sweetheart. The breeder we bought her from breeds very high quality with the sweetest dispositions. She's a cuddlebug who loves to sit in our laps or cuddle next to me on the couch or bed. She's seldom more than a couple of feet from me when I'm at home.

Basically, your best bet is to make sure you see the parents and find out what type personalities they have. Also, ask if some older siblings are on site for you to see, or ask for references, people who have bought the pup's older siblings. Do your homework and I don't think sex will matter nearly as much.

Wishing you the very best!!!!
