Pancreatitis is not caused from "not" eating, so I'm not real sure why the Vet. would give an appetite stimulant.
The underlying cause of pancreatitis is not known, but could be an immune disease.
This condition can come on after overindulgence in rich or fatty foods. Frequent attacks of pancreatitis can finally result in a lack of insulin, leading to diabetes.
Usually a "natural" diet and regular exercise is important. This regulates the intestinal tract, and regularizing the bowels and keeping this part of the body preventively more healthy. It also keeps weight under control.
