Thank you for your prayers. The vet was very thorough, took blood and x-rays, sedated her enough to look down her throat. Everything looked very normal other than the congested-sounding breathing. X-ray ruled out collapsed trachea and the vet said it was very clear with the stethoscope that the noise was coming from the throat, not lungs. Since she'd already had a steroid shot within the past few weeks, the vet put her on a new antibiotic and some antihistamine (CTM). She already sounds so much better. The CTM seems to be making her a bit sleepy but, since she's breathing easily and noiselessly while she sleeps, we're happy to provide laps for those naps.
