Duh, I knew that, Lol! I should have said: I read about 5 articles that specifically said that simethicone is not recommended for use in infants. I know Mylicon is made
for infants... I also read many opinions that simethicone does nothing for gas, no dif than a sugar pill!.
I use it only occassionally and won't go without it, as it works quickly and does stop the pain of excess gas. One of my pups tends towards bloating, but only once in a great while. I give her Bloat Busters. If this started happening all the time, I would seek a doctor/vet's advice, bc something would be going on to cause the discomfort and where simethicone temporarily fixes the immediate problem, it is not a cure.
I also heard from a vet that raising a dog's front feet off the floor (getting them into an upright position) after a meal can help them expel any gas, so I try to remember to do this with her. Sometimes she burps on her own, but when she doesn't, I help her assume the position. With her it has to do with the build of her body, how she eats, and how much she eats. Overeating can bring on problems with her very quickly, so we're on portion-control diets....
