Please pull up Snow Blue Yorkies....she has an in depth history of the Biewer...it is accurate. I too had talked several times with Mr.Biewer, before these dogs were being imported into this country...still very new on scene here.....Because of the difficulty he was having getting these dogs registered or recognized by AKC, and because of the expense of traveling to Germany to pick up my dogs, and my concern that these Yorkies would ever "catch on" here, I decided not to go that route...He could not get his Biewers registered as Yorkies because of the "color fault" and the only way the dogs could be registered, was to register them through the German Registry, which desgnated them a separate breed, so they could be registered! Snow Blue Yorkies has the history of all that and the progression of the breed and the registering of the breed,...very interesting, accurate information...also explaines the "difference" in the two dogs.
