I have the same problem....my yorkie will get fleas and my other long legged short haired dog doesn't get them as bad. My yorkie has long hair and I think she gets the fleas because she is closer to the ground and the hair provides the fleas with a way to attach.

I use comfortis and have no problem with fleas as long as I use it every month through out the spring and summer.
