Microchips to not give off a signal & can not be tracked. They can only be scanned.
ZoE was microchipped at 6-7 months old, when she was spayed. She's had no ill-effects from it, but I can feel it under the skin by left shoulder blade. It literally feels like there is a single grain of rice stuck under there.
Everytime ZoE has a scheduled procedure done at the Vet (yearly check-up, booster shot, etc.) I ask that she be scanned to verify that it's still scanning, as microchips can migrate and then be more difficult to read.
