Zack's been itching scratching up a storm b/c of some allergy. Our vets said to give 1mg of Benedry per pound. Zack's around 11lbs, so half a 25mg would be just about right. The vet also said to give every 8hours, 3x per day max. I've found out that after 3 or 4 doses he stops itching/scratching so the Benedryl must build up or have a residual effect beyond the 8hours. I never have gone the 3x per day just after breakfast and around 9pm for overnight. Seems to work best for him. I have the mg to ml conversion if you want to go the liquid Benedryl route. A quick shot of liguid in the back of the mouth and its over. Zack's easy to give meds to, hide it in some cheese and it's gone.
