But I continue to believe the root of the problem is the breed standard requiring Yorkies to be under 7#. A pup needs to be under 5# at a year and a half to meet the breed standard at two years old. If the 'ideal' Yorkie were more like 9 or 10#, we wouldn't have this obsession with tiny Yorkies. Anyone ever hear of a Cocker Spaniel under 7#? |
Yes it's true, bc the majority of the population want a cute lap dog as an ACCESSORY and we all know not all should have a pet just bc they can or can afford it. Just like human kids. Just bc you can have kids doesn't mean you should. Just bc you can get a pet doesn't mean should. The puppymill and byb supply these people most of the time (people that get turned down by reputable breeders and rescue). There's a reason why it's hard to get a pup from a reputable show breeder or a rescue. But they think they are entitled bc they can. Just bc you can, doesn't mean you should.
