Medial LP in the toy breeds is hereditary. Your breeder should be notified but don't be surprised if she blames you, most like to blame the victim..
On another note, your dog should be assessed for the LP and the fracture by a board certified veterinary surgical specialist. Sometimes splinting these fractures is detrimental to the dog. In addition, I'd never in a million years let a general vet do an LP surgery on my dog or even advise me about it.
