My vet gave my yorkie this: Doxycycline and told me to finish the rx. I know it was a long while. It did give him runny bowels at the end and I fed him boiled beef with white rice and boiled chicken breast to clear it up. Also gave him 1 cc of pepto bismol to help settle his stomach. After that he stopped eating and then became normal with a good appetite. I asked the vet about the kennel cough vaccine and he said not to go to the park and he would not give the vaccine. It causes health problems.
