I have been holding ice cubes for Max to lick and it does seems to be helping. Someone very dear also suggested frozen chicken broth to make it more appealing, and soft food. We will have dad work on that in the morning.

The upshot was that the boys enjoyed the trip to the ER after being stuck inside on this rainy day (wish I could be a dog and always see the bright side of things). We got out for a little walk in front of the building, and dad took Teddy to see the go carts next door.
I was so proud of the way both the boys behaved in the ER. Teddy was concerned for his brother, so he was really good. Max always knows when a doctor is trying to help him. I let the guys walk around on the floor and they were perfect.
