The manufacturer and many users of the brush say it is a great dantangler, the safest and gentlest. I agree that on a clean coat, it is a good detangler. It is not a de-matter by any means.
You may want to wait and see what Carmen in NJ has to say about the wood pin brush. She has a girl with a softer coat and has been looking for the perfect brush.
For detangling, I would recommend trying an ISINIS brush (available on Amazon), and a rat tail comb (available from YT user Jenny, aka mimimomo, at her site toplinepet.com.
