I think potty training with these little ones is a work in progress. Bella is a year and half old and this has been the biggest challenge I have had with her. Just when I think she is completely house broken she will have an accident. She is great as long as I am in the same room with her. I will see her run to the door and then she runs back to get me. However if I am in another room of the house it is a hit or miss. If I miss the cue she will do it on the mat at the front door. I always say it is my fault as I didn't catch the cue that she had to go and she is doing it at the door which means she knew she had to go outside. Maybe with age they get a little better I don't know. It is much better now than when she was a puppy. She would do just as you describe, go out do a quick pee then run back into the house and poo. Just hang in there, I think it will come.
